Theo is dancer, dance maker / teacher and designer based in Brighton, U.K.

DANCE

Since graduating from the Rambert School in 1996, he has performed work by many of the U.K.’s leading choreographers including Siobhan Davies, Matthew Bourne/New Adventures + National Theatre, Wayne McGregor/Random Dance, Lea Anderson/The Featherstonehaughs, Rafael Bonachela/Bonachela Dance Company, Charles Linehan, New Art Club, Kim Brandstrup/Arc Dance Company, Aletta Collins, Henrietta Hale/Dog Kennel Hill, Laila Diallo, Fin Walker, Stephen Mear, Ben Wright/Bgroup, Mark Bruce and Volcano Theatre/National Theatre Wales.
In 2004, Theo co founded the 'dancer run' dance company, PROBE, with Antonia Grove and over 5 years they produced and performed two full-length evenings of work; Have we met somewhere before? and Magpie, commissioning a total of seven original duets along side performing Yasmeen Godder’s 'i feel funny today' and Trisha Brown’s iconic solo Accumulation from 1971. PROBE's performance of Soledad, a collaboration with Rafael Bonachela, won them The Guglielmo Ebreo Award and Critic's Choice Award at The Biennale Danza e Italia 2006.
Recent work includes touring a new solo work by Laila Diallo entitled At any moment something else, performing in Fevered Sleep's twelve hour improvisation/installation Stilled at The South Bank Centre, touring The Fault Index and The Clearing with Charles Linehan Company and acting as movement director on Stewart Laing's Traverse Theatre production of Mark Ravenhill's Ten Plagues; a song cycle performed by Mark Almond. In 2012, Theo will be performing in Laila Diallo's new full-length work, Hold Everything Dear.

Theo's own productions include the dance film (v) to leap or skip, especially in an emotional manner which he created with the filmmaker Mariko Montpetit for The South Bank Centre and a new solo entitled P I L O T for Brighton Fringe Festival.
He also has a collaboration with the celebrated Korean music ensemble 'Be Being' in development. Produced by Cryptic and composed by Gyu-Young Jang, the new work, for five musicians and five British based dancers, is set to premiere in Seoul in 2012, followed by U.K dates in the autumn of that year.

Theo often works in the commercial sector on photo shoots, adverts and pop promos, including choreographing Kylie Minogue's Two Hearts video and acting as assistant choreographer to Rafael Bonachela for her Showgirl and Homecoming tours.

In April of this year, Theo led a two week residency at the New Zealand School of Dance in Wellington and has just returned from Chile (Santiago, Valparaiso and Punta Arenas) where, at the invite of the British Council, he taught technique, improvisation and creative practise to local professionals.
Theo regularly teaches professional companies including D.V.8, Random Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Company, The Featherstonehaughs, New Adventures, Sydney Dance Company, Chunky Move, Arc Dance Company, Union Dance Company and Transitions. He also teaches professional open classes and workshops for universities such as London Contemporary Dance School, Bird College, Lewisham College, Sussex Downs College, Rambert School, The Place, Greenwich Dance Agency, Independent Dance @ Siobhan Davies Studios.

DESIGN

Theo's design work spans dance, theatre, opera and live art, including costuming Stewart Laing's 'The Salon Project' for the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, 'La Boheme' for Scottish Opera, 'Parserliv' for Malmö Opera, 'The Land of Yes and the Land of No' for Sydney Dance Company, 'Between Silence and Stillness' and 'Small Acts' for Skanes Dance Theatre, Sweden, 'Orlando' and 'Confined Human Condition' for Cryptic, 'May' for PROBE, 'This is Now' for New Art Club as well a work for, among others, Frauke Requhart, Arthur Pita, Tanja Liedtke, Fin Walker/Ricochet Dance, Dog Kennel Hill project and 'Sisters, such Devoted Sisters' for Russell Barr.
Theo has also costumed numerous works for both Ben Wright's company Bgroup including 'About Around', 'The Diminishing Present', 'This Moment is your Life' (for The Place Prize 2008) and the recent 'The Lessening of Difference'. For choreographer Laila Diallo, Theo has costumed 'Between the shingle and the dune', 'The Wayside' and 'At any moment, Something else' and the forthcoming 'Hold everything Dear'.
Theo also has an ongoing collaboration with the celebrated live art performer Adrian Howells, designing set and costumes for various incarnations of his show hit show 'An Audience with Adrienne', across the U.K. and in Singapore, Tel Aviv and at Munich Opera House.
Forthcoming work includes set and costumes for Scottish Dance Theatre's Rachel Lopez comission and Richard Jones' production of Peter Grimes for La Scala, Milan.
